Data and Workflow Integration
A satellite application adds functionality to a host application, or enterprise system. Research IT developers work with Office for Research units to implement new enterprise software solutions from vendor systems, as we also build satellite systems to wrap around this commercial software.
In alignment with NUIT, we use vendor systems whenever possible and address deficiencies with integration, workflow and satellite applications instead of customizations. This maintains an efficient upgrade path.
